today we finally got to go disk golfing! the wind wasn't too bad... it was there but not a hindrance, in fact if played right it helped your game. :) I invited Paul to try it too, we took his car and went to "The Blendon Woods Disc Golf Course. The Oldest Course in Columbus - Fun for All Ages Since 1985" It was a really cute little course, It was short but, not bad. If you were in a hurry you could probably buzz right threw. Or you could just relax. It was really tranquil there. you did have to pay, but I would say it was worth it for the trip. If you don't have a disk you could rent one for $1. You really could play the whole course with a multi-purpose. but I gotta say i loved it! It wasn't horribly hilly and and wasn't flat. I played the 18 and felt like doing it again. ... which is something this pregnant butt hasn't felt like doing in a while. It was great! The stroller worked fine, even tho Kyla pushed it almost the whole time. it is stroller friendly, is what I'm trying to say. The only thing I didn't like ... they have about a 10' radius "green" around each basket that is asphalt. Chews you disk up!!! I didn't use my putter, because it is gummy... and I love it. so I used my cobra (don't care for too much) or just don't miss! This is a short course that leans more on the technical shots, rather than length. but still way better then Lime Kiln back home! I really like it... I want to bring it home with me! ...the whole park really.

More info... from there site:

Course Name: Blendon Woods Disc Golf Course - Westerville, Oh 43081

Description:
This is a very nicely designed and maintained deluxe short course.  It features concrete tee pads, deluxe tee signs, and a small pro shop with discs, snacks, and drinks for sale.  This course has a large warn-up and putting practice area featuring three practice baskets, including a Mach3 with an "Around 9" set-up, a Chainstar and an Innova Discatcher.  The course is pay-to-play, greens fees are: $1.50 per round or $4.50 for all day.  If you don't have a disc you can rent one for $1.  These fees help defray the expense of maintaining such a nice facility. It is a mostly wooded site but the fairways were cleared out of the woods and grass was planted much like on a ball-golf course.    The course has a huge parking lot with really nice picnic areas adjacent to the course.  It also has deluxe bathroom facilities just as you turn into the parking lot.  It is a great beginners course with well defined fairways and nice mix of right, left, and straight shots.  This course is extremely popular and gets a lot of play in the summer time.  Incidentally, this course no longer closes in the winter time. The baskets are left in place but he starter shack is closed and admission is on the honor system (approximately Nov thru March).  You should check on the exact dates if it's important to you.  During the season the course and pro shop are opened 7 days a week from 9am until 45 min before sunset.
