Thursday the 17th:
Had my doctor’s appointment at 10:15
I told him she hasn't moved much since the failed induction on Monday, but I can still feel her move sometimes. Then it took like 15 minutes to find her heartbeat. Then he felt around and said she is still high up... and I am still 1 cm dilated. He was concerned about why she was so high up, especially after an induction with such good contractions. So he wants me to go to the Prenatal Assessment Center at St. Joe's. And get an ultrasound by a specialist to see if, she is stuck, and if she is How she is stuck. He was thinking maybe her head is too big? So he labeled me official a "high risk pregnancy" When Dr. Gilman left the room to make me an appointment, I texted Matt so he would know what's up. ...no response, but then a minute later when the doctor came back in, Matt was with him :) So the doctor explained what was going on to Matt. The office over there must have been busy, so he had his nurse stay on the line. He said he would try and get us in there tomorrow, and we could go home, and they will call us with the appointment date.
So I had brought nana with me, so she could watch Kyla, and drop some stuff off by Richard's place. So we stopped by burger king so we could all have a whopper jr. fix. (Also it was like 2 by now!) We were HUNGRY!
Then wail driving grandma home I got a call from Dr. Gilman, saying he talked with the specialist and they decided to squeeze me in today, they both thought it was a better idea than waiting till tomorrow.
So I left Kyla with Nana, and said she might be there for a wail... and called Matt to fill him in. He came over and we relaxed for 5minutes, then he took me to the Prenatal Assessment Center. We had to be there at 3:30, but we had parking structure issues, and got there at like 3:40pm. :P
We went in an ultrasound room and started our "assessment".
On a side note...her lil hand was up by her head...as it always has been.
So we noticed a couple of things, 1) her head is not stuck...in fact it's little. 2) Her umbilical cord is too short. 3) Her cord is around her neck. 4) There is a lot of fluid! But the big problem was on her 'non stress test' she got 2 out of 10.
So we got transferred over to L&D. It was about 5:00pm. We got room 14 :) guess what there is no room 13! It goes 12 then 14, so technically we are in room 13! :) That's got to be a good sign. I'm going to get checked and see how they are going to induce. They will be inducing with pitocin again... with high level monitoring... They started the pitocin at 6:00pm, but said it won't be likely this will work, but they'd give it a try. I got my blood drawn, and was told like 50x that a c-section is most likely. Matt and I thought it would be a while, so Matt left to get some stuff... but then he got lost, I told him I was waiting until he got back for the epidural... 8:24pm and the contractions are 3 minutes apart, and then when he was a minute or so away the nurse finally said... you know he can't be in the room when the epidural is being placed right? ...ummm WHAT!? So I said yeah, give me the epidural now (10:35pm)! So then they said they just were going to check me one more time, before the epidural. Then the nurse looked up all quick and said to the attending "She's at a 4!" Yea I made it to a 4 by myself :) Then they finally got the epidural in.
And guess what everything that was supposed to happen for success happened!! When my water broke it trickled out instead of gushing so her head can get threw first! I went from 4cm to 8cm in a 1/2 hr! Ouch! I wanted to push with the contractions but they said wait! They called Dr. Gilman. He got there around 11-something? Only 4 pushes later Shayna was here!!!!! (12:55am) Matt got to cut the cord! She didn't cry right away, and we already had the NICU people there. ...but as soon as she got to the table I heard her cry, and it was a good cry too! She got an 8 on her one minute APGAR and a 9 on her five minute APGAR. And by the way no tare or stitches for me! :)
We stayed in the room a little while for some R&R recovery. Shayna got her first feeding :) and had some bonding time with us. Then we were moved up to the 5th floor. She went to the nursery to sleep, and we got a few hours of sleep in ... 2 hours actually. By the way... She Was Born On Her Due Date!!!!

Well after our 'epic fail' of trying to induce on the 14th. I'm a lil depressed.
...and then there is Kyla who will always keep you on your toes!
Last night I woke up at 1am -ish and the side I was laying on was soaked!
So I thought oh great I got sent home and now my water breaks!
..but it was not... Kyla had decided she is a big girl and didn't want to wear a night night diaper, so she changed into big girl underwear to surprise me. ...yes I was surprised.

At st.Mary's now....
Was suppose to be here at 7.
got here at 7:10ish.
My pitocen and penicillin are going now...
Matt stayed over last night so he could leave early with me... but apparently not? don't know where he is now?
baby's HR is 154 at the moment...
first real contraction at like 9am. they are about 10 minutes apart now... but not unbearable.

contractions are getting stronger.
and are between 5-10 minutes apart and last between 1-5 minutes.
Baby's HR is 157 at the moment.
I have been calling Matt but no answer. :((
I have no one to get me ice chips :'(
when I run out I just wait for the nurse... I'm not going to page her for ice :P
My heartburn is so bad, it feels like I'm going to throw up!

It's 10:35 now...
still don't know where Matt is?
It's too uncomfortable to sit up now...
so I am very reclaimed... but not laying flat.
Does any one else feel like showing up to rub my legs or back for me?
or maybe a nice cool towel for my forehead?
I know grandma would, but she is watching Kyla.
and Kyla can't come to visit until after baby is born...
BTW Baby's HR is 146 at the moment.
contractions are every 5 minutes...

lol, I just read the ticker to the side and it made me chuckle, it says:
"Shayna is Launch ready. curled up with legs on the chest, and knees against the nose."
well good then.:P
btw its 10:55.
Baby's HR is 150,
and still no sign of matt. I just called again. no answer.
nurse came in and took my BP it's 113/64
she also got me a cool wash cloth for my forehead.
that feels better... but unfortunately the contractions are getting way stronger so... owch.

It's only 11:25 now... but
I sent Matt a text, that said "I don't understand you made me feel so special and happy yesterday. But now I'm sitting here all alone?"
the nurse came in cause I was crying a little bit, I said it must just be the contractions....
I was upset because i just took a picture of the monitor, put the camera back in it's case and then it slipped out of my hand because I wasn't paying attention to how much IV slack I had. and the camera feel on the floor and a lil under the bed... I wasn't going to page the nurse just to get it so i tried myself... which made the contractions on the screen look all weird and spiky.
There was a mention that I said my husband would just be here in a little bit... and that was at 7.
I feel stupid now, because this whole time I was convincing the nurse that Matt was a great guy and that he did so perfect with Kyla's delivery being right there and all. (because they are required to ask the domestic violence questions...and lets just say the questions where not in his favor to begin with...) And now, everyone here has him pegged as an ass...
maybe he will show up yet and prove them wrong .. I hope?

11:45 now, contractions still suck, baby's HR is 157.
I can now fit 2 hands under my boobs and above my belly.
The nurse came in and moved the baby's heart monitor way low now...

It's 1:05 now,
Still no Matt.? Don't know what's up with that.
contractions are still like every 5 minutes, but I would say they are getting to be 3-5 minutes.
The nurse just checked and I'm still only 1cm dilated. actually 1+ she said. but that's still basically the same as last week. The contractions are getting stronger of course. but it's still gradual so I get use to them. ...ish.
My belly monitor thing is usually at 11-14 and then when I get a contraction it would go up to 30 something. then for a while it was 34-35. Now I'm at a 14-24 regularly and it goes up to 50. I had one that went up to 60. that one hurt alot!

1:49... my phone just rang it was Matt.
He says he is on the way. ....but I asked him what he was doing and he apparently doesn't know... ?
and as an odd handed fyi... my right one leaked a lil too, now.
it's not steady but every once and a while there will be a drip.
The contractions continue to increase pain wise, and are 3-4 or 2-3 minutes apart. The nurse got me a heat pad for my back a while ago... that was awesome! Cause my back is killin me.
baby's HR is 151. and it is now 1:55.

It's 2:18, Matt is here. They made him wait in the lobby area wail he got approved to get in lol.

Contractions are a minute apart...one minute on and one minute off.... they now almost hit the 75! ooowwcchhh.
Since matt has been here he had 2 ice creams.... and has yet too rub my back or something.... oh there he goes for another icecream....WTH!

The contractions are horrid... but still not much progress. The nurse said Dr.gilman would be here and check me out... hopefully break my water....but if not then i might have to go home.

it's 4:40... Dr, Gilman came in and checked me... I am still 1cm dialated :((
So they stopped the pictocin. and I have to be monitored for an hour, then they are sending me home :'''(
I have an appointment with him again in the office on thursday at 10:15.
Wahhhh. EPIC FAIL!!!!
the nurse was really nice tho... she ordered me a food tray, to have before I left, because i couldn't eat all day. :(
This sucks ...but at least I can snuggle with Kyla tonight, that would make anyone feel better!
and just to keep it up... stubbern butt's HR is 160, my BP is 134/71 and my contractions only go up to #20 again. And they went down to like 10 minutes apart. ...All those Ouchie contractions... all day... for no baby :( Bah!

Doctor appointment today!
I gained 2lbs... :( I now weigh like 224 :((
But 1lb of it is defiantly baby! So that helps a bit.
I am 1cm dilated! (finally)
and baby's heart rate is 157!
and guess what?!?
We have an appointment for next week!

It isn't in the office....
ON MONDAY JUNE 14th
we get to go to St. Mary's!!!!
the induction will start at 7AM!!!!
...not really a morning person, but I will have to get up early, and on a monday :P

I lost my sneeze today...what is a sneeze? well it's what I called my mucous plug... because that word makes me want to barf just saying it. I have noticed a lil bit every time I went to the bathroom... but this time it was the whole sneeze. ...EWW!

When do you lose your mucous plug?

Some women will lose their mucous plug or part of their mucous plug weeks before they go into labor. Losing your mucous plug does not always mean labor will begin shortly. Keep in mind that even if a woman has begun to dilate, it may be weeks before she actually goes into labor. As your body prepares for labor your cervix will begin to dilate and thin. As your cervix opens up, your mucous plug may fall out. Losing your mucous plug is a good sign that labor is on its way. Though, it could be days or even weeks after you lose your mucous plug before labor actually starts. Many women do not lose their mucous plug at one time; instead, they lose it more gradually. They may notice an increase in vaginal secretions weeks before they go into labor.

So just to be on the safe side, I called Nana to make sure Kyla's bed was ready for her. You never know if your going to get a midnight call tonight or still be weeks away?

What a great day! This is how it should have been from the beginning. The doctors appointment went great!!! Right as you walked in the door it was like a sigh of relief.
Matt came too... which made it even greater!
On the down side i now weigh 222... I gained to much weight again!!! Dr. Gilman is going to chart it out so he has a better idea, but i just gave him my records today, so he will go over them. He was awesome! He spent like an hour with us. So now that i finally get good information from a doctor... I now know, that i am not dilated, or anything. The baby is indeed head down... But too high up!!!
He not only did an exam but an ultrasound as well, to find the baby's position. Also that means not only did Matt get to hear the heartbeat, but also see the baby!!! The heart rate was 147. And we couldn't get a print out of the baby's face from the ultrasound because her head was always turned the wrong way!!! She is such a lil wiggler!! But i did sneak a peak before the wiggle butt started, and she was sucking on her thumb. If u notice from her old ultrasound, her hand was up there too. ...so that's twice now, we have intruded on her thumb sucking. I also finally have info, on what else there is for options besides an epidural. :) the doc also said that any time we want to induce we can (so that she doesn't get to big) ... But he also said at this point i am measuring "right on" for size... so I have no idea what the other doctor was going on about... also I found out that I had tested positive for e-coli sometime in the beginning of the pregnancy...yeah never heard anything about that?

Also, There was only one thing Matt didn't like about Dr. Gilman: Matt didn't get to cut the cord.
well we found out why today. I do remember Kyla needed a vacuum to get out.. why? apparently with the preeclampsia and such... Kyla's heart rate started to drastically drop. So he had to get her out asap. So now we know...

I have an appointment for next Thursday and I can't wait!!!

so no doctors appointment today...oh, I had one scheduled. :P
I did have an appointment for 1 or something... I got a call from his nurse around 3ish...
"you have missed your scheduled appointment, would you like to reschedule for..."
and I cut her off... "no"...lol that felt good :P

I did have an appointment with my state nurse at 12:30.
She was really helpful ...as always :)

but the real action was at home today!
I got threw to Dr. Gilman's office and guess what!!!???!!!
I got in!
I have an appointment for june 7th at 11am!
I called nana excited!! We were both super thrilled!!!
but then I had a call waiting... so I told Nana I'd call her back.
Guess who it was?
Dr. Gilman's nurse! They called back! I got an earlier appointment for june 3rd at 3:15!!!
WHOOOO!!!!

9:30 doc appointment...
Ok I got there at 9:10... I was the only one there. then at 9:15 two people showed up. then we all waited...
then at 9:30, the girl who apparently had the 9:00 got in. then at 9:45, the other girl (who had the 9:15) got to go in.
Then finally at 10:15 I got in.... so not only to I get less then adequate care, I also have to wait forever for it!

I'm finally got in and guess what I gained another 5lbs. -in two weeks... that can't be good!
but guess what? For the first time captain do nothing (Dr. Fait) actually said something about it!
but... still no weight help. This is all that happened:
doc-you gained 5lbs in 2 weeks that's not good.
me- yeah, I don't get it. I mostly eat cereal and subway, and I'm on my feet the whole time I'm at work. I don't know what's up?
doc- do exercise at all? (he said it in a put down kind of tone...this from a guy who's extra large shirt is always bursting at the buttons.)
me- yeah I go disk golfing almost every day. and my daily walks are about a block long minimum.
doc- well golf is stop and go, you need exercise
me- well disk golf isn't that stop and go, its more like hiking with throwing?
it was at this time he must have decided he spent to much energy on this and changed the subject by mentioning that my strep b test is today.
... I tried to ask him about if i should extend my daily walks, or if there is some sort of specific exercise I should be doing, but he had moved on :(

So about the strep b test, I was given a sheet to put over my lap and had to me nudie tude from the waist down. I was excited! I'm finally going to get a few answers! Like am I dilated, effaced? are you going to see a head :P
...but no. sadly no. he did the "test" he had a swab and he barley looked under the sheet. then he was on his way out the door... UMMM excuse me!
I had to put my hand out and kinda loudly said wait!
I got a look like uuuuggg now what.
I told him "hold on I still have questions!"
doc-ok...
me- how big am I? what am I measuring? Am I measuring too big?
doc- this is your second pregnancy so it's normal to be all little bigger.
and off he ran to the door again...
me- wait
doc- what
well I was wondering... because my grandpa just died... well we are having a memorial dinner on the 31st. and I don't want to miss it. Is there anyway that i could be induced early or if it gets close you can stop labor?
his reply- they are waiting 2 weeks to bury him? (as if he were implying I was lying about it)
I was shocked, I mean most people at least say sorry for your lose?
and then as I sat there in disbelief He went out the door.
REALLY?
he didn't even answer one of my questions... what is he an ex politician?
I had more questions? uuuugggggggg!

Today I also had an 11:00 appointment with the state nurse, but she had to reschedule. She had a death in the family :( That stinks! she has been the only one to really help, it's like I go waste my time at the doctor and then meet with her where she actually helps! She is so helpful, i feel bad that bad things happen to good people.

ahhhhhhhh!

05/21/10 -Friday
As you know I have been trying really hard to find a new doctor. I remembered there was a list of doctors that take my hmo. And the State Nurse office had one. So I went down there. As I said my particular nurse is out for the week, but another nurse helped me out. She couldn't find the list, but she asked what was up, and really helped out alot! She got me some info, and got way further in the 15 minutes we spent together, then I had for the last couple of months! She got info, I never got from receptionists. SO guess what! We have a possibility! unfortunately they don't except my hmo...until June 1st. ...but still It is a ray of hope!!!!

05/22/10 -Saturday
Today is my last day at work. (Friday was suppose to be, but she asked me to work Saturday, and I need the $$ so... joy) But when I got there she wanted a note saying I quit today... not maternity leave. ummm what? she said she would just do a re-hire... yeah I don't think so.
I only had to work 11:00-2:00 but at 1:15 I started to get a horrible cramp. I couldn't even stand up straight. The cramp ended at 2:45. I was concerned.... but at the same time I didn't really want to call my doctor... cause well he sucks. But anyway an hour long cramp can't be good so I tried his pager thing, at 3:00... nothin, so at 3:30 I tried again...then again at 3:35... he called me back after that, I told him what was going on and the he said go to St. Mary's and we will monitor you. I said ok, but then he said you have to go to St. Mary's on the lake, because I'm only 36 weeks...uuummm what? He said before I had to be 35 weeks and then I can deliver at St. Mary's Ozaukee... the one down the street from me. but any way I drove all the way out to Milwaukee...The nurse put on some monitors, and let me tell you at least some good came from this :P I got to see baby's heart rate for a while The HR went between, 130 and 148. Anyway, I don't know why but I started to get a lil dizzy and got a killer headache. I just started to feel loopy. But then the truth came out... Dr. Jerk walks threw the door... The reason I had to drive all the way out there was because he was on call there at the time. Ummm..k. You know I would have went out there, there is no reason to lie! Anyway. He said the cramping feeling was just my hips widening, and he said it like it was something I should have known and was wasting his time... Ok but then why did he tell me to come down here?
So I just sat there and at about 6:00 he was ready to discharge me... yeah thanks for wasting my time...
So as he says the nurse will discharge me when they are done with a delivery, in a very snooty tone. He asked "well do you have any questions?" It sounded as if he were in a debate with someone not a conversation. But I really felt like crap, and had a killer migraine, and felt woozy and loopy. And I just couldn't focus or think of any. So I told him, "not now, I just feel loopy and can't think of anything." And then he said "so you have No questions.." Like he was accusing me of something... So I Said " No, I have lots of questions, I just don't feel very good right now and can't think of any." I was thinking to myself well if the jerk is actually going to listen now... I can ask him on Tuesday...(the next appointment). Then he snapped back "Well write them down, because I don't want another call from a county nurse!" and then left.
...really...
So that's the way your going to be? I was so mad. why does he think he can just treat people like crap? So I got "released" and all. and started to drive home. I called Nana and she said we should go to Rich's Restaurant to relax. And at 7:56 I decided his no good butt is outta here! So I picked up grandma and we went out to eat. What I came up with, is that hopefully I will get the other doctor, so....just keep my legs crossed till the first? But If I were to go early I will just go to St. Mary's and when they ask who my doctor is, I will just ask for the attending. *Sigh* So much unnecessary drama BS!

Very hard day today!
Lots of braxton hicks and Baby is dropping!!!
AHHH!
My back!

In fear of not being ready... I have the car-seat out and installed in the car!

(On the not so great side... it turns out that Washington county won't except my insurance because I live in Ozaukee county :( poo! so I'm still looking for a new doctor.)
